In the evening, ‘Rooftop at QT’ delivers a sophisticated atmosphere that feels a world away from the energy of the town centre. Chic, stylish and effortlessly cool, I half expected the cast of Ocean's Eleven to be sitting in one of the booths. Whether you're enjoying a cocktail at sunset, a bite to eat or simply soaking up the view across Lake Wakatipu, it's an impressive space that perfectly complements the hotel's personality.
One feature particularly enjoyed was the ‘Guest Activation Zone’ in the lobby. Rather than simply being a place to walk through, it becomes a social hub throughout the day. Mornings see complimentary croissants, pastries, juices and smoothies available for guests (a lovely addition rather than a replacement for breakfast), while afternoons and early evenings transform into relaxed gatherings with wine and cheese platters or whisky tastings. It's a simple concept but one that creates a genuine sense of atmosphere and encourages guests to slow down and connect.
QT Queenstown has always had personality, but this redevelopment elevates the experience considerably.
