In February, IHG Hotels & Resorts, announced the conversion of Holiday Inn Express & Suites Queenstown to voco Queenstown. IHG are partnering with asset owner, developer and manager, Pro-invest Group, to reposition the highly regarded, centrally located hotel within IHG’s premium portfolio.

Matt Tripolone, Managing Director for IHG Australasia & Pacific, described the move as a "strategic repositioning," aiming to align the hotel’s prime location and 227-room scale with a more premium guest experience.

The hotel will transition to the voco brand and reopen as voco Queenstown later in 2026. To meet voco’s global brand standards, the property is undergoing a targeted refurbishment focused on social spaces and dining:

As part of the conversion, guests can expect:

  • Refreshed guest rooms with updated design and amenities
  • Enhanced meeting and event spaces
  • A new outdoor dining area and upgraded restaurant and bar concepts (including Mozzarella & Co)
  • Improved facilities aimed at both leisure and business visitors
