The exchange rates published are the “Buy TT” rates from our bank (Westpac NZ), as these are the relevant rates for buying a foreign currency. Note that there is a discrepancy between this rate and the “Sell TT” rate, which is often mistakenly quoted by some agents.
This rate is valid for a period of 7 days from the time the invoice is sent out.
Please Note: There is small incremental buffer included to counter any fluctuations within the time period before payment is made.
As you would be aware it has been a tough time on the West Coast with recent weather events in the region. However the great news is the Waiho Bridge that was washed away by recent floodwaters is scheduled to reopen this weekend (13-14 April 19).
However the recent weather has now destroyed a significant part of the Fox Glacier Valley Road and the carpark which means their Fox Trail: Terminal Face Walk is now suspended and will not be taking bookings for this experience for the foreseeable future. Fox Glacier Guiding is unable to put any date on any operations in this area due to the significant changes that have occurred.
They remain committed to assessing any opportunity that may exist to develop/restart an experience in Fox Glacier in the future, but this will take time as they do not know as yet what this would look like or indeed if it is possible.
As soon as we receive any updates on this we will share this with you immediately.
At this time, we ask if you can please remove the Fox Trail: Terminal Face Walk should you have it listed within any of your own collateral and tariffs.
The remainder of experiences through Fox Glacier Guiding continue to operate as normal and are unaffected for any clients staying in Fox Glacier.
Any questions please don’t hesitate to contact our team.
